Typically, the season launches in August, regional qualifying events are held between January and February, the national final is in March and the world championship is in April. Preparation requires one or two hours a week, which can be intensified closer to championship events.

It is possible to register for the competition by completing the online form on the official FIRST ® LEGO® League Italia website.

During registration, you can decide whether to sign up for the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Italian championship , the Off-Season events or whether to receive a Class Pack .

Once completed, the organizational secretariat proceeds to verify the data entered and the team receives a confirmation email, in which the methods of purchasing the competition material, the deadlines and all the information necessary to prepare for the challenge are communicated.

Based on the choices made during registration and the related information received, complete the payment . Registration is considered finalized only after payment has been made correctly.

Each participating team receives the competition field with the game mat and the LEGO® missions to assemble to prepare for the Robot Game.

Each participating team also has digital materials available. These are the official guide manuals to prepare for the challenge, translated into Italian. In particular, the shared material consists of:

  • guide for coaches ( Team Meeting Guide ), with a proposed route divided into work sessions;
  • work notebook ( Engineering Notebook ) designed for team members, in which they can note the progress made in the work carried out;
  • the Robot Game Rulebook .

Those who purchase a Class Pack also receive the Class Pack Guide , with advice on how to organize an event within the school or institution.

The teams prepare for the challenge by using the material received.

They design, build and program their own robot to carry out missions. Furthermore, with the help of the Team Meeting Guide and the Engineering Notebook, they research a problem related to the theme of the year to develop their own Innovative Project.

The journey culminates in a day of celebration where you participate in an event with other teams! Those who participate in the championship can thus earn promotion to the subsequent stages.

To enjoy the party in full FIRST ® spirit it is important to follow the compass of the Core Values : discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork and fun.
